The Texans are excited to announce a new sponsor for our team. HITFORTH is offering special pricing for our players and donating practice balls to our 3 teams this Spring. They offer a unique player development program which the director of training, Kevin Kies, has detailed below.

At HITFORTH, we understand that every hitter is unique, with distinct strengths, weaknesses, and developmental opportunities. That's why our assessment process goes beyond the traditional and dives deep into the intricacies of each player's performance. We're excited to walk you through our comprehensive assessment process, designed to unlock the full potential of every baseball player.
1. Movement Screen by Director of Performance
The process kicks off with a movement screen by Andrew Chappell. This critical step allows us to identify any range of motion issues or movement deficiencies that may impact a player's performance.
2. Active Warm-Up and Power Production Testing
After the movement screen, players undergo an active warm-up tailored to their needs. We then measure power production using our vertical jump mat, providing insights into their explosive strength and athleticism.
3. Swinging Different Implements
To understand how hitters respond to various implements, we guide players through rounds of hitting baseballs and plyo balls with different bats. This step gives us valuable insights into their adaptability and preferences.
4. Batting Practice with Live Arm and iPitch Machine
Our assessment includes live batting practice rounds, featuring pitches from coaches and our iPitch machine. This dynamic setting allows us to evaluate a player's performance under different conditions.
5. K:Vest Wearable Sensor Technology
Enter K:Vest, our cutting-edge wearable sensor technology. By incorporating K:Vest into our training, we gain biomechanical insights into each swing. This step ensures a deep understanding of the player's mechanics and aids in refining their technique.
6. HitTrax Batted Ball Report and Video Analysis
We create individual accounts for all our hitters on HitTrax, offering a comprehensive batted ball report. We analyze exit velocity, point of contact, launch angle, spray chart, and hitting strength to various sides of the field. Coupled with video analysis, this provides a holistic view of a player's performance.
7. Blast Sensor Data Analysis
Our hitters wear Blast sensors during batting practice, allowing us to delve into key metrics such as bat speed and attack angle. We use this data to align their performance with playing goals, ensuring a targeted approach to development.
8. Biomechanics Assessment and Feedback Session
The biomechanics assessment is the final piece of the puzzle. We bring together insights from K:Vest, HitTrax, and Blast sensors to discuss a player's overall performance. This feedback session forms the basis for tailoring a personalized training program.
9. Summing Up and Developmental Roadmap
In the final stage, we synthesize all collected data to identify areas for development. We engage in a collaborative discussion with the player, mapping out a training program that aligns with their goals and addresses specific improvement areas.
